Howards ready to take over with this summers Hustle & Flow. He has always dreamed of being a famous rapper and sharing his grooves with the world. Just when it seems that such a fantasy is hopeless, he bumps into his old friend Key (Anthony Anderson), who once had dreams of owning a studio but now makes music at the local church with pot-smoking Shelby (DJ Qualls). It begins as Beat That Bch, morphs to Stomp That Ho, and finally gets recorded as Whoop That Trick. The original music by Scott Bomar is first rate. Claimed by many as the ‘godfather’ of underground rap out of Memphis, Kapone, who reveals he’s also now a celebrity DJ on Hot 107. Their encounter incites their desire to pursue their musical goals together and embrace a second chance at life. Conclusion Hustle & Flow pulls no punches as it tells a gritty tale of redemption involving complex characters trying to make the most of their impoverished lives. I am far from being a fan of hip-hop and crunk but the construction and execution of Whoop That Trick has the tune, enjoyably, playing in my head long after seeing the film. #Hustle and flow making whoop that trick movie.
